Dr. Santiago horgan, MDChief Executive Officer
Dr. Santiago Horgan is an internationally recognized expert in esophageal disease, weight-loss surgery, minimally invasive surgery and new technologies and approaches for surgery. He has expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques, providing patients with a faster recovery time and less scarring than open surgical methods. He is skilled in the use of surgical robotics including the da Vinci system, which enables surgeons to perform complex and delicate procedures through small incisions. He is also a pioneer in the field of natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (NOTES), in which surgical instruments are passed through a natural orifice such as the mouth to reach the desired organ.

Ramzi majit, M.s.Ramzi Majit has worked in business development for a Fortune 100 global diversified technology and multi industrial company for the past three years. Previous to business development, Mr. Majit received the masters and bachelors degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 2016 and 2015 respectively. During his graduate studies, his research focused on soft robotic technology in medical applications. He is a license Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and a published author in the areas of robotics and medical devices. His work appeared in publications including the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and System (IROS) and Studies in Health Technology and Informatics.

Michael Tolley, Ph.d.Chief Technology Officer
Michael T. Tolley is an internationally recognized expert in soft robotic technology. His research seeks inspiration from nature to design robotic systems with the versatility, resilience, and efficiency of biological organisms.
He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, Harvard University. He received the Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering with a minor in computer science from Cornell University in 2009 and 2011, respectively. His work has appeared in leading academic journals including Science and Nature, and has been recognized by awards including a US Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Program award and a 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Award. |
Dr. ShangLei Liu, MD, MASChief Medical Officer
Dr. Shanglei Liu has completed his general surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 2019 and is a board qualified general surgeon. In addition to obtaining his Medical Degree (MD) in 2012, Dr. Liu has also completed a Masters in the field of Medical Device Engineering in 2017 and received his Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering in 2007 all at UCSD. His area of interest in research in medical devices as it pertains to patient care and surgeon interactions. He is a published author in the areas of endoscopic devices and quality control, surgical ergonomics, tumor biology, and robotics surgery. His work appeared in leading journals including Surgical Endoscopy, Digestive Disease Week, and Journal of Laproendoscopic and Advanced Surgical Techniques.
